This guide walks through installing the Phish Alert Gmail app. The app must be installed by a Google Workspace admin in order to enable the app across all users in your organization. Once the app is installed, any employee that is an active Adaptive user will be able to report suspicious emails via the Adaptive Phish Alert Button in Gmail.

  1. Navigate to the Adaptive Security Phish Alert in the Google Workspace Marketplace.

  2. Click Admin Install button and click “Continue” on the pop-up.

  3. Confirm you have the app setup to install automatically for “Everyone at your organization” and check the box to accept terms. Click “Finish”.

  4. Google advises that it can take up to 24 hours for Google to install the app across all of your users, but it is typically much quicker than that. Once the app has been installed, each user should see the Phish Alert icon appear in their inbox with a notification that the app has been installed.

  5. Each user will have to authenticate the app with Google SSO to authorize access. This is a one-time step for each user.

  6. After the user has authenticated, they should now be able to report any suspicious emails via the Adaptive Phish Alert Button.
