Using Groups as Your Campaign Audience

Using a Group as your campaign's audience lets you target training (or phishing) to a specific set of employees and choose whether the campaign keeps enrolling new people as they join that group.

Setting up the campaign

  1. Navigate to the Training (or Phishing) tab and click + New Campaign.

  2. Name the campaign and continue

  3. On the audience step, choose Group.

  4. Pick an existing group from the dropdown, or create a new one. An existing group shows its conditions and how many other campaigns use it. Click View details to review before continuing.

  5. Choose how the group enrolls people (see below).

  6. Set your schedule and launch.

Choosing how the group enrolls people

For training, a Group audience gives you three options:

  • Current members only — enrolls whoever is in the group right now, and stops there. Anyone who joins the group later isn't added. This is a point-in-time snapshot.

  • Current + future members — enrolls whoever is in the group right now, and keeps enrolling new members as they join, for as long as the campaign is live.

  • Future members only — skips everyone currently in the group, and only enrolls people who join the group after the campaign launches.

The Future members row carries a small Auto-enroll tag that indicates that employees will be auto-enrolled based on the conditions that you set.

If you would like to include employees that currently match group conditions as well, pick Current + future members — it enrolls them immediately and keeps enrolling new matches going forward, all in one campaign.

Pick Future members only instead when you deliberately don't want to enroll the people who already match — for example, if they've already gone through this training a different way and you only want new members covered from here on.

How this works for phishing

A phishing Group audience works a little differently:

  • A Recurring campaign is always current + future by definition — it recalculates who's in the group at the start of every cycle, so there's no separate choice to make.

  • A One-Time phishing campaign works like training's Current members only: it enrolls whoever's in the group at launch, and doesn't add anyone later.
